Moisture Control:

One frequently overlooked aspect of Integrated Pest Management programs is moisture control. All insects need three things for survival: air, food, and water. There is not much we can do to exclude air. Food is controlled by customer cleanliness and supplied by baits. However, there are many ways to eliminate sources of water.

All too often the only aspect of moisture control that pest control operators consider is damp crawl spaces. However, all sources of water available to insects should be of concern. Correcting plumbing leaks, examining air conditioner drains and sprinkler head locations, and eliminating moist wood mulch must be considered as part of a complete moisture control program.

At PEST-X™ we have several solutions for your wet or damp crawl space. We provide:

* Vapor Barriers
* Automatic "Temp-Vents"
* Complete Interior Drainage Systems For Standing Water
* Sump Pump Installations

Nothing substitutes for trained eyes and a good flashlight.
The presence of dark stains and blistered paint are usually
indications of moisture problems. The most important
moisture inspection tool is an electronic moisture meter.
Moisture meters come in two basic varieties, resistance
types and radio frequency models. Feel confident that your
PEST-X™ technician has the solutions for excess moisture in
your home!
